3D ANIMATION COURSE

The course is designed to enable beginners in 3D to understand and effectively use the principles of animation. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to animate various characters and will often be able to breathe life into them and add their own touch. By the end of the course, they will be able to work in a team with people who have been working on AAA projects for years.
The course consists of 32 lessons of three hours each. It puts a lot of emphasis on independent work and exercises that will be revised during the remaining three days of consultations lasting an hour and a half each.
Classes are held twice a week, in the school premises, each class will consist of mini-segments where the lecturer will work on a specific animation and explain to the participants the process and thinking behind everything he does, after which you will have a few minutes to repeat it yourself.
This is an intensive course that lasts for four full months, during which the basics of the material are covered in lectures, and practicing what you have learned depends on your commitment. Consultations that will be held in the evening will serve so that at the end of the day you can ask for a comment from the lecturer where he will direct you and give you suggestions on what to work on and how to further improve.
The participants will be given additional assignments to work at home and the participants are expected to complete them regularly.
COURSE OVERVIEW:

1.BASICS OF MODELING AND RIGGING

We start the course with an introduction to the Autodesk Maya program, and during lectures and exercises we go through all the basic tools and procedures for modeling and rigging that an animator must know.
The goal of this is to develop a deeper understanding of the areas that directly affect the animator’s work and the animation process itself.

2.ANIMATION OF SIMPLE OBJECTS

Here we will lay the foundations of the idea of animation itself as well as concepts about the weight and solidity of objects by playing with simple geometric bodies and bringing them to life. Going through this segment, we will also learn the basic tools that we will use in animation.

3.BIPED ANIMATIONS

Leaving spheres and cubes behind, we move on to the most important “shapes” that we will animate in gaming, which are bipedal humanoids. Through them we will learn a lot about poses and character posing. We will come up with various ways to enrich certain animations and make them more interesting to the eye. We will watch our little men stand up, jump, walk, run, fight and die for our entertainment.

4.COLLECTIVE WORK

This represents the culmination of our work and effort, where we will divide into teams and come up with a composition that we will animate together. We will share the characters and we will animate each of them, where we will learn to work in a team, to think like animators, give each other feedback and receive constructive criticism. After this segment, we will have to put a representative work in the portfolio, and based on how we animated and functioned in the team, we will also have a test for intership at Artbully Productions.
