3D GAME ART COURSE HIGH POLY MODELING

$1,000.00

This course is designed to enable beginners to master the creation process of 3D game models. During the course we will explain various 3D modeling techniques for different types of games; the emphasis of the course is on achieving AAA quality for video games.

The course is structured in a way that participants get videos with the lecture and at the end of the video there is an assignment that they need to do, in order to advance to the new lecture. Also, all the participants are in contact with one of the instructors, whom you can consult if any issues occur, and to whom you can send the assignments once they are done.

Description

1.HIGH POLY MODELING
We start the course with an introduction to the Autodesk Maya program and during classes we go through all the necessary tools for modeling simple and more complex surfaces. The goal is to learn how to approach making complex surfaces with proper topology.

2.SCULPTING
ZBrush is the next program we explore. Here candidates will learn how to add the smallest details to models made in Maya and also determine which models are better to produce in Zbrush from the start. The goal is to introduce candidates to Zbrush and to essential tools for sculpting.

3.LOW POLY & MID POLY MODELING
Low Poly and Mid Poly models are optimized High Poly models ready for Game Engines. Candidates will learn the difference between Low Poly and Mid Poly models, when to use each one, their advantages and disadvantages, how to develop UV Maps and also how to modify Smoothing groups correctly.

4.BAKE
Bake is the process of making Normal and AO Maps, which serve to recover all lost details which disappeared while optimizing models from High Poly model to Low Poly models.

5. TEXTURING
Texturing is a process of painting and adding materials to models. Candidates will work in Substance Painter where they will learn about spec/gloss and metal/rough workflows. Candidates will learn the attributes of each and how to use them correctly for achieving desired results.

6.PRESENTATION
At the end of the course, every candidate will have 5 game models made from scratch that they can use for their personal portfolio. Every candidate will learn how to render and present their work in the best way possible. The better the presentation, the nicer their portfolio will look and that is a key factor in landing job offers in this industry.
